Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 tbsp apple cider or rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt
  • Tortillas or lettuce leaves (optional)

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine lentils, tomato sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Simmer until thickened.
  • In a bowl, toss cabbage, vinegar, maple syrup, and salt. Chill until ready to serve.
  • Serve BBQ lentils and slaw in tortillas or lettuce wraps. Add hot sauce or avocado if desired.
