BBQ Lentil Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes
Smoky lentil meatballs baked in BBQ sauce and served with creamy mashed potatoes. A WFPB comfort food favorite.

Ingredients
- 1.5 cups cooked green or brown lentils
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tbsp ground flax + 3 tbsp water
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup oil-free BBQ sauce
- 3–4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared oil-free)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix flax and water, let sit 5 minutes.
- Mash lentils slightly, then combine with oats, onion, garlic, paprika, flax mix, salt and pepper.
- Form into small balls and place on lined baking sheet.
- Bake 20 minutes, then brush with BBQ sauce and bake 10 more minutes.
- Serve with mashed potatoes and extra BBQ sauce.
